Depreciation Reserve Percent Of
All Reporting LECs

The following table updates Table 1 of the article "Local Exchange Carrier Depreciation Reserve Percents" by Richard B. Lee and Michael J. Majoros, Jr., as published in the Journal of the Society of Depreciation Professionals, Volume 10, Number 1, 2000 - 2001.

The trends noted in that article continue. The depreciation reserve percent of all LECs rose from 52.1 percent in 1999 to 60.5 percent in 2003. The composite accrual rate of 6.7 percent in 2003 continued to far exceed the composite retirement rate of 2.8 percent.
