Snavely King's Comprehensive Investment Analysis System (SCIAS) accumulates and analyzes the historical activity from a company's depreciable plant accounts. The system can be used to analyze and evaluate observed service lives and mortality patterns and to estimate future projection lives and mortality patterns using a variety of actuarial, semi-actuarial and turnover techniques. In addition to life analysis and life estimation, SCIAS contains separate modules to calculate point-in-time estimates of lives and remaining lives based upon existing plant-in-service using alternative weighting procedures. To date, SCIAS has been used in the analysis of electric, gas, water, and telecom companies.
